What type of phone do I need?

When roaming with MAXRoam, the availability of networks depends on the operating frequency of the networks in that country, and the operating frequency your phone can recognise. To find out what operating frequency your phone recognises, consult your phones manual.

Most phones sold or used in the US operate at 850MHz/1900MHz, and most support 900Mhz. Only in countries where there the GSM network operates at those frequencies will your phone work. Most European phones operate at 900MHz/1800MHz, with support for 1900Mhz. If your phone does not support the GSM frequency of the country you are visiting, you will need to purchase a phone that does, as MAXRoam cannot work if your phone cannot connect to a network.

Please select the countries you wish to view your phones compatability with below (hold down CTRL, and click a country to select multiple countries). Alternatively, you can view all of the countries supported by MAXRoam.
